Mr. Mitieli is currently employed as a Senior Administrative Officer at the National Disaster Management Unit of the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management in the Fiji Islands. He joined the ministry in 2014 and has served there as a Training Officer, a Senior Administrative Officer and a Divisional Planning Officer since then.  Before joining the ministry, he was a high school teacher, who taught History and Social Science for more than ten years.  He joined DPMM Professoinal Master Program in order to acquire knowledge in the field  and contribute to minimizing  impacts of disasters in the rural communities of Fiji.
