DPMM, AIT is now a Member of GADRI Board of Directors

The Global Alliance of Disaster Research Institutes (GADRI) was established as an outcome of the Global Summit Series initiated by the Disaster Prevention Research Institutes (DPRI), Kyoto University, Japan in 2015. GADRI is a collaborative platform for engaging discussion, sharing knowledge and promoting networks on topics related to risk reduction and resilience to disasters. The First Global Summit was held in November 2011 where a resolution was passed to establish an international alliance of research institutes involved in disaster risk reduction and risk management fostered by DPRI, Kyoto University; and the Second Global Summit which was held in March 2015 officially established the Global Alliance of Disaster Research Institutes to support the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 (SFDRR) and the work of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Group of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR). In March 2017, GADRI organized the Third Global Summit where 251 participants represented 102 institutions from 38 states.

Disaster Preparedness, Mitigation and Management (DPMM), Asian Institute of Technology, THAILAND has been nominated as GADRI Board of Directors by GADRI General Assembly. The term of office of the Board of Directors is for a period of four years starting from 1 April 2018.
