Call for Participants: Risk Index for Climate Displacement Co-creation Symposium
Disaster Preparedness, Mitigation and Management (DPMM) AIT is pleased to invite your participation in the Risk Index for Climate Displacement (RICD) Co-creation Symposium which will be held in Bangkok on 11-12 July 2024.
The Co-creation Symposium is organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the University of the Philippines Resilience Institute (UP RI), and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
The Symposium is part of a collaborative initiative that aims to increase understanding of current and future impacts of climate change, especially as it relates to migration and displacement. The Risk Index for Climate Displacement (RICD) is aimed to be a tool to improve forecasting of potential future challenges linked to climate change and migration. The tool will apply a robust and modular approach to assess climate displacement risk in Asia and the Pacific.
Deadline for applications is on 24 May 2024. All institutions and experts with relevant expertise in the topic are welcome to apply, with priority given to those based in Asia Pacific or with expertise on relevant topics in the region. Travel to the event will be supported. Applicants are welcome to join the co-creation mechanism even if they are unable to attend the Symposium.
