DRSD 2023 International Symposium: That's a wrap!
Asian Institute of Technology successfully organized the 3rd International Symposium on Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development 2023 (DRSD 2023). The 2 day Symposium took place on 7-8 December 2023 in AIT Conference Center. The organization of DRSD 2023 was led by the Chair of the DRSD Organizing Committee and Chair of DPMM AIT, Dr. Indrajit Pal, and supported by 19 institutional partners.
Over 220 registered participants from 25 countries attended the Symposium which focused on current and emerging issues in disaster risk reduction and sustainable development. The diverse participants represented different sectors, such as academic institutions, national and international nongovernmental organizations, government agencies, multilateral banks, and the private sector.
The Symposium achieved its aims of diverse academic exhibitions and establishing discourse on key issues related to DRR and sustainable development. The Symposium hosted speeches from 7 keynote speakers, facilitated multi-sectoral dialogue through 4 panel discussion sessions, and exhibited state of the art interdisciplinary knowledge on DRR as
showcased through 126 oral presentations and 24 poster presentations presented in the Thematic Sessions.
